As 2017 came to a close I found myself with a lot of spare time on my hands. The company that I work for closes for a week and I tend to end up with vacation days to burn through. This means I’m tacking on extra days to that week. I managed to do a few productive things. The first was clock over 100 hours in Breath of the Wild and the second was experiment with making pizza at home. The latter resulted in having pizza pretty consistently over the last week of the year and into the new year.
For the home cooked pizza I did some testing with Bianco and Pizza Camp. The key to both these base dough recipes is time. I found for the type of flour and water I was using that the Bianco dough yielded a sturdier crust that browned better but that the flavor of the Pizza Camp crust and overall dough pliability was much better. All turned out pretty well, if I could toot my own horn.
January’s travel pizza adventures included pizza at the Googleplex and less impressively, in the San Jose Airport.
